Trachoma Care Plan
Although trachoma be eliminated from many developed countries in the last century, these diseases persist in many parts of the developing world, especially in communities without adequate access to water and sanitation. In many societies, women are three times more likely than men to be blinded by the disease, because of their role as caregivers in the family. Without intervention, trachoma families stay afloat in a cycle of poverty, illness and the long-term effects are passed from one generation to the next.
